The pattern

What you'll play

Both hands strike at the same moment, on every beat. The left index plays the kick on every beat in both bars. Bar 1: the right middle hits crash on 1, then the hat on 2, 3 and 4, always with the kick. Bar 2: the right hand alternates hat on 1 and 3, snare on 2 and 4.

Tip: Fingertips, curved fingers, wrists slightly raised and loose.

Play it clean

Lift both fingers the same height and drop them together. Pass with 85% as the tempo goes 64 → 70 BPM.
