The pattern

What you'll play

Left hand on the beats, right hand on the "ands". Bar 1: left index kick on every beat, right middle hat on every "and". Bar 2: the left hand splits: kick on 1 and 3, clap (left middle) on 2 and 4. The last "and" is an open hat (right ring).

Hear it first

The hands never hit together. You hear an even 8th stream.

Play it clean

Say "left, right" out loud for a few loops. Pass with 85% as the tempo goes 64 → 70 BPM.
